Public Speaking contest

Tonight at school, 4 teams competed against each other for the title of Best Public Speakers at Rowde. They were speaking on two subjects; whether children should be made to wear school uniform and whether children should have homework. Both interesting issues to debate and answer questions on. All 4 teams were eloquent and held their own answering questions from the audience. 

I am delighted to tell you that 'The Buddies'- Georgina Evans, Tilly Toach and Bronte Lemon, were the winners. 

A special mention and prize was also given to Zoe Elsden, for her articulation and confident presentation. 

Well done everyone. You were all fabulous!

Cygnus grow their own

Cygnus class have got green fingers, it's official. They wowed Mrs Taylor and me with their home grown courgettes. 

Mrs Taylor will use the courgettes for school lunches next week. Yum! 

The a Winning Titanic project

Maths medalists

Today some of our eager mathematicians went to Wansdyke Academy to take part in a maths games competition.

Everyone played really well and we won 4 medals!

What a brilliant result. Well done every one.

And the winner is...

Huge congratulations go to Kirstin Wright, in year 6, who won Rowde's Got Talent this afternoon. 

She sang Hero by Enrique Inglesias. It sounded beautiful. 

Congratulations to all the finalists. An excellent afternoon's entertainment. 

Fun with the Fire brigade

We rang 999 after evacuating the school when we smelled gas in the main school building. 
The fire department came really quickly and while they were checking the building they entertained the children.

They also fetched all the balls off the roof and made sure that school was safe to return to.

Summer BBQ

What a brilliant evening we have just had! A summer BBQ that was warm and sunny and dry! 

Great music, food and company . 

Thank you to everyone who came along to support and enjoy the evening. A special thanks to all the RAFT members who organised the event! What a success.
